Brief History:

Bukit Merah Bus Interchange commenced operations on 14 February 1981. Today, little has changed since its opening over 20 years ago, with no major renovations apart from re-roofing works in 2014 and the interchange layout largely similar.An overhead bridge over Bukit Merah Central was added after its opening.

General refurbishment works at the bus interchange were undertaken in 2013 to 2014. Contract VT360 was awarded to JS Metal Pte. Ltd. for Addition & Alteration Works, at a sum of S$1,183,200.00.
