The route enhances connectivity particularly within the Punggol and Sengkang areas, where bus connectivity to outlying estates used to be rather limited.

The new bus route will provide commuters with convenient access to key transport nodes and amenities, such as MRT stations, town centres, schools including the new ITE College Central along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5, and the Sengkang Sports and Recreation Centre along Sengkang West.”
