Introduced in 2005, Service 52 is an inter-town route connecting the residential towns of Jurong East and Clementi with Upper Thomson and Bishan, incorporating an express sector along the PIE, and semi-express along Lornie Road. The route also serves the Clementi Road academic belt, serving SIM and Nanyang Polytechnic with bus connections to Clementi MRT alongside Service 154 and 184.
From Bishan Interchange, this route also supplements Feeder 410G/W to Bishan Street 22 and Sin Ming.

Fleet: Service 52 has a fleet, comprising of a majority of Scania K230UBs. In addition, there are Mercedes-Benz Citaros and Volvo B9TL Wrights added to ease demand. A Mercedes-Benz Citaro was added under the BSEP scheme.
