Double Deckers for Yishun Feeders and Intratowns

Yishun Feeder and Intratown Bus Services recently received double-decker buses. As part of the Seletar Bus Package, double-decker buses will be deployed on Bus Services 800, 804, 806, 807 and 812.

Previously, SMRT Buses operated bendy buses on these short-haul services, which ferry more passengers than single-deckers, and allow for faster boarding and alighting than double-deckers. With the ongoing retirement of Mercedes-Benz O405G Bendy Buses, double-deckers have gradually taken their place on these bus services.

Bus Service 806 first received double-decker buses on 16 July 2017. On 21st October 2017, Bus Services 800, 804 and 812 followed suit.

SMRT Buses currently operates MAN A95 and Alexander Dennis Enviro500 buses on these services. When SBS Transit takes over these bus services early next year under the Seletar Bus Package, both MAN A95 and Volvo B9TL buses are expected to be deployed.

Bendies served northern feeder services work much better after all these years. Not enough A24s to serve these routes so DDs will be used. During peak hours lower deck very crowded and upper deck got empty seats as i spotted on 806.
