Formula 1 2016 Bus Diversions

Diversions as outlined in this section are based off last year’s arrangements, LTA’s Road Access Plans and information released by Public Transport Operators. This document is accurate to the best of our ability and we welcome readers to highlight any mistakes.

Bus route diversions and train service extensions for the 
2016 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX
14 September – 19 September 2016

The 2016 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX returns to Singapore from 14 September – 17 September 2016. Similar to past years, road closure will take place over six days, the largest series of road closures every year.

Affected roads will be closed from 12:01am, 14 September (Wednesday) to facilitate the set up of race infrastructure.  When the race is completed, affected roads will reopen progressively and all roads will be fully accessible by 5:30am, 20 September (Tuesday) onwards.

Travelling Tips during the F1 period:

  • If relying on public bus services, familiarize oneself with diversion routes and alternative bus boarding/alighting stops along the diverted roads
  • Plan for additional travel time. Road congestion is expected around the circuit park and next bus arrival timings will not be available.
  • When in doubt, rely on the rail network. Familiarize oneself with walking routes in and out of the Marina Bay area.
  • Know alternative routes to your destination.
  • Approach bus drivers or interchange offices for more information on road and bus stop closures.
  • Inform bus drivers out of goodwill if one decides to alight at bus stops along the diversion route.
