Premium 543 serves housing estates around Jurong East Neighborhood 2 (around Jurong East Ave 1 / Toh Guan Rd) with bus connections to the CBD, eliminating the hassle of transferring between different modes of transport. It is a more convenient alternative route for residents who would otherwise rely on the MRT or other bus routes to reach the city.

In 2014, City Direct 657 was launched between Jurong East and Shenton Way, which reduced demand on this service as a cheaper alternative. Express 502 also serves the Toh Guan catchment areas to Shenton Way, but via Orchard Road.

Transfer of Operations to Aedge Holdings

From 29 Feb 2016, Aedge Holdings Pte Ltd took over operations for Premium 543. Trip timings were revised to 3 AM trips and the morning route was extended to Nicoll Highway. Additionally, 2 PM trips were introduced from Beach Rd back to Jurong East and West (1810hrs, 1825hrs), via Marina Blvd. These were subsequently reduced to 1 trip at 1825hrs and eventually withdrawn from 8 Aug 2016.

Departure Timings:

  • AM from Jurong East Ave 1: 0745hrs, 0755hrs, 0805hrs

Operating Days: Weekdays only. Does not operate on Weekends and Public Holidays.

    Hi

For the past few weeks, the bus is always fulk with people standing till the door on the 8.15am bus at Toh Guan.

Are there still 3 bus frequencies or have you made changes?

If there are still 3 buses and the 2 bus is always empty, perhaps you can adjust the second bus’ timing to a later time. It does not make sense for people yo pay SGD4.20 to take a premium bus, only to stand throughout the journey.

However, if the second bus is also full, then perhaps you can consider having a 4th bus or changing back to the SBS double decker bus.

The next question is why is it that the bus stops at Fullerton Sq and then the next bus stop is at opposite Suntec City, but it skips the bus stop at Esplanade Bridge?

    Hi
Am now on the bus 543 boarded from toh guan stop. I realised that the driver drives the bus at a particular slow speed as I can see that he purposely let other vehicles passed in front him. The 657 came at the same time as his but i can see that that bus has already long gone yet this 543 stll near the creative at 8 am. We r paying premium hoping to get the comfort yet alsi on time to our work place.  With this indian driver skill i doubt i can achieve this result. If no imrovement from your end i will rather switch back to 657 at lower rate yet on time to office. Looking forward to your reply.

Pls check for today 4 May (Wed). Waited at Toh Guan bus stop from 8.05am onwards but had to take a cab at 8.32am.
