(Defunct) Rumah Tinggi Bus Terminal

Rumah Tinggi Bus Terminal is a former bus terminal located within the Rumah Tinggi Estate at Redhill, solely serving Bus Service 63. It was downgraded to a looping point after the amendment of Service 63 to a loop service.

Details:

Name: Rumah Tinggi Bus Terminal | 努玛吉丁宜巴士终站
Catchment area: Rumah Tinggi Estate
Facilities: Alighting area and boarding bus stop & 2 bus parking lots
Bus services: 1 (SBST)

History:

Rumah Tinggi Bus Terminal was built in the 1980s to serve the estates around Redhill. Situated in front of Block 37 of Jalan Rumah Tinggi, the bus terminal was abolished in the early 2000s after Service 63 [Rumah Tinggi – MacPherson Estate (Loop)] was merged with Service 382 [Eunos – Ubi Ave 1 (Loop)] to start from Eunos Interchange and loop at Jalan Rumah Tinggi.

Today, the terminal office has been removed, but the original two parking lots for Service 63 remain, situated beside a rubbish collection point. The bus stop outside Block 38 retained the name “Rumah Tinggi Terminal”, before being renamed “Opp Blk 36”.

In October 2018, a HDB tender called for the upgrading of existing bus shelters at Rumah Tinggi.

Service 63 should be rerouted to Lorong 1 Geylang Terminal cuz no point building a bus terminal with only 1 service
At least should add in more if you wanna continue service there

It’s not even a terminal anymore to begin with. Plus, Rumah Tinggi residents will be at a disadvantage if that happens, especially if they can’t afford private transportation and taxis.

this bus ter should reconstruct as a turnabout road like bt purmei ave. amend the alighting point and boarding point into 2 pairs of bus stop, service 63 should called this 2 pairs of bus stops in both direction if LTA amend service 63 to bt merah int. Service 139 can also called this 2 pairs of bus stops in both direction.

63 should end at Bukit Merah Bus Interchange instead. A new feeder service from Bukit Merah can be introduced to loop at Rumah Tinggi.
