Rail Operators

SMRT Trains is a wholly owned subsidiary of SMRT Corporation. Presently the largest rail operator in Singapore, it was known as the Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRTC) when the MRT first opened in 1987, later renaming to Singapore MRT Limited. It operates the Bukit Panjang LRT through its subsidiary, SMRT Light Rail.

SBS Transit is a wholly owned subsidiary of ComfortDelGro. Formed in 1973 as Singapore Bus Services (SBS), the company renamed to SBS Transit in 2011, reflecting its bi-modal status as both a bus and rail operator.
