Volvo B8L

Additional Features

USB Charging Ports

The bus is equipped with USB charging ports for selected seats only. Charging ports come with room for either one or two USB cables.

At present, only the lower deck rear seating area, and the last two rows of the upper deck, have USB charging ports. The reason for such odd construction arrangements is unknown.

Exit Doors

Doors and the Automated Wheelchair Ramp are supplied by SMC Transit, also known as SMC Pneumatics. A video of the ramp deployment is shown below. The automatic ramp has since been removed prior to entering revenue service, and replaced with a manual wheelchair ramp.

SG4003D was showcased during the Seletar Bus Depot Carnival as part of the static bus displays.

Fabric seats? Good luck. ..Volvo should aim for more torque instead of horsepower which is meaningless in Singapore.

As much as Volvo built it for the operators, it is LTA who now has the final say. They will have to convince them that the interests of the authority aligns with the operators for them to succeed in the upcoming massive DD tender.

Wheelchair ramp was quite flimsy when tested, is it safe for wheelchair users?
