Sengkang MRT/LRT Station (NE16/STC) is an underground station along the North East Line (NEL), as well as an interchange station with the Sengkang LRT (SKLRT). Located within the Sengkang Town Centre, the entire station is built as a multi-level structure with the elevated SKLRT station built on top of the underground NEL station, sharing a common concourse at both Ground Level and Level 2.

Sengkang means “prosperous harbour” in Chinese, which gets its name from a former road Lorong Sengkang in the area. The station is a major transport node for the residences of Sengkang, where the SKLRT and other bus services provide last-mile connections between Sengkang NEL station and their homes.

The station building is also integrated with the adjacent developments of Compass One mall, Compass Heights residences and Sengkang Bus Interchange, where bus services connect the station to other parts of the estate.

The LRT station code ‘STC‘ is an abbreviation of ‘Sengkang Town Centre’.
