Singapore’s public bus services have been operating for many decades since the 1960s and underwent numerous rationalisation exercises to reduce duplication between different modes of public transport and provide better connectivity across the island. While many bus services had been discontinued due to low passenger demand and rationalisation exercises after the opening of new MRT lines, other bus services have survived for over 5 decades since the 1971 Bus Reorganisation.
