Jurong East Temporary Bus Interchange was a bus interchange located at Jurong East Central and served the town of Jurong East. As part of the Jurong Regional Centre, it connected to many public amenities such as Jurong East MRT Station, JCube, Jurong Regional Library, Westgate, JEM and the future Jurong Community Hospital.
The interchange was demolished to make way for the Jurong Region Line and a future Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) within the MoT-LTA integrated complex.

The Interchange (2011 – 2020):
Jurong East Temporary Bus Interchange was a bus interchange located in the residential town of Jurong East, bordered by Jurong East MRT station and Jurong Gateway Road. Connecting with Jurong East MRT Station along the North South Line and East West Line, the interchange was a transport node for commuters heading in and out of residential estates within Jurong East, as well as the Penjuru and Toh Guan industrial areas, allowing for convenient transfers between the rail network and the many bus services at the interchange.
The Jurong East Temporary Interchange was opened on 17th December 2011. The interchange had a single vehicular concourse area with an entrance along Jurong Gateway Road, and an exit leading to a signalized junction with Jurong Gateway Road and Gateway Link. The interchange concourse comprised a linear alighting berth and seven sawtooth berths. Pedestrian exits on all sides lead to adjacent developments. All berths at the interchange were wheelchair-accessible.
The temporary bus interchange, which opened in 2011, was relocated to a new site south of the existing temporary interchange on 6 December 2020. This new (second) temporary interchange will facilitate the demolishing of the current interchange to make way for the Jurong Region Line and a future Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) within the MoT-LTA integrated complex, slated for completion ‘after 2020’. The JRL station is scheduled to open in 2027.
History (1985 – 2011):
Jurong East Bus Interchange opened on Sunday, 30th June 1985, located at 155 Jurong East Street 13 and opposite CPF Jurong Building (northwest of Jurong East MRT station). The airy and spacious interchange housed many bus services were transferred from Teban Gardens Bus Terminal and several which were rerouted from Jurong Bus Interchange. Apart from benefiting commuters living in Jurong East or working in nearby industrial areas, the interchange also catered to cross-border commuters taking buses to Malaysia, via the Second Link.
In the 2000s, initial concept plans released for the Jurong Lake District revealed plans for a new Integrated Transport Hub at Jurong East. Located at the existing site of Jurong East Bus Interchange and underneath the MRT tracks, it would form part of an integrated commercial and transport development surrounding Jurong East MRT Station.
These plans were released as surrounding plots of land were being tendered out to private developers. The construction of Jurong East Temporary Bus Interchange (Reference No.: VT330) was awarded at a sum of S$5.98 million in February 2011. Jurong West Street 12, which formerly passed underneath Jurong East MRT Station, was expunged in tandem with redevelopment works.
On 17 December 2011, Jurong East Interchange was closed and operations shifted to the nearby Jurong East Temporary Interchange, located west of the MRT station and opposite the shopping mall JCube.
Post Closure
After the closure of Jurong East Temporary Bus Interchange on 6 December 2020, the former alighting berth is temporary retained as a sheltered walkway between Jurong East MRT and Jurong Gateway Road. In addition, a portion of the old bus park was temporarily used for the parking of excess / spare buses from the relocated Jurong East Bus Interchange.
Demolition works started in late January 2021.

What make you professors think that TTS has excess buses?Did you see their odometer to understand the high mileage?It just they Doesnt want to waste money leasing new buses.They believe Hybrid or electric buses is the way to go.But I believe they will eventually get a few Euro VI A22/A95 from SMRT for service 944/991
