Art in Transit: “Tree of Memories” by Koh Hong Teng

‘Tree of Memories’ showcases the memorabilia of people and things that left their imprints before and after the construction of Springleaf MRT station. Using a banyan tree as the main anchor, the artist surrounded it with a juxtaposition of buildings, imaginatively interpreted characters and artifacts taken from the unique blend of nostalgic shophouses and lush greenery around Springleaf estate. Making the artwork a study of integration of the place, people, nature and the spatial connection between them, ‘Tree of Memories’ is a whimsical composition that invites the busy commuter to wonder into a familiar yet enchanted, magical world amidst their transit.

I am a regular commuter on the TEL from Springleaf station.
Many a time, I enter via exit 1. I noticed that each time I held on the handrail of the escalator going downwards, my fingers and left palm get real dirty. Appreciate if you could organise cleaners to clean the handrail .

    Many thanks

Between this station and Lentor, there is a box station. What could it be? Why not do that for the possible station between HarbourFront and Outram Park in the NEL?

It could be (TE4A) Tagore MRT Station, as the station box is underneath Tagore Road

    Dear Land Transport Guru,

For Exit 3, can you state, “Singapore Zoo via Bus 138”? Cause Bus 138 provide a direct bus connection from Springleaf Station to Singapore Zoo. Thanks.
