2016 Thaipusam Bus Diversions

Bus route diversions for the 2016 Thaipusam Processions
Saturday 23 January 2016 (2100hrs) – Monday 25 January 2016 (0300hrs)

A total of thirty-three (33) bus services are affected due to road and bus stop closures. Affected bus services will ply alternative routes or skip bus stops along their existing route during the diversion period.

Diversion Information:

• Clemenceau Road group (Service 64, 123, 139 and 143) towards Dhoby Ghaut are diverted to ply River Valley Rd, Hill St and Stamford Rd, skipping Clemenceau Ave. Orchard bound Services 123 and 143 will resume original routing along Penang Rd; Serangoon bound Services 64 and 139 will turn right into Prinsep St from Stamford Rd, skipping Dhoby Ghaut entirely.
• Bencoolen Street group (Service 64, 65, 139, 147, 166) towards Bras Basah are diverted to Middle Rd, Victoria St (Service 147 only) or North Bridge Rd (remaining 4 services), right turn into Stamford Rd, continuing on to Orchard Rd and resuming original routing. As such, they will skip Selegie Rd / Prinsep St, Bras Basah Rd and Bencoolen St.
• Service 131 bring the exception, is diverted to Middle Rd, Victoria St and resuming its original routing along Bras Basah Rd towards Shenton Way.
• All Penang Road services will skip bus stop 08031 Dhoby Ghaut Stn outside Park Mall.
• All Serangoon Road services will skip bus stop 07221 Sri Srinivasa Perumal Tp outside the Hindu temple.

Generally, alighting is allowed at any bus stop along the diversion route. However, boarding may be subject to bus drivers’ decision. Do remember to flag a bus early when attempting to board a bus along its diversion route.

For Penang Rd – Dhoby Ghaut Station, commuters can board the skipped bus services from Orchard Rd – YMCA.
