What a terrific start to a first day!
I’m being sarcastic, it was not a good start.
First, 460 buses, as per LTA’s long-lasting rule for new/amended bus services, were strictly restricted to follow the timetable, meaning the buses were forced to CRAWL VERY SLOWLY. And 460 ended up being so slow, the 296 bus that departed Tampines Int with it managed to catch up and **overtake** at the looping point. What a disappointment
Speaking of departure, 460 & 296 were for some reason scheduled to depart at around the same time, meaning either one is going to collect air (usually 460).

All in all launch day did not look promising, let’s see how 460 turns out to be in the future (please fix the scheduling, please)

I mean, as you said, that’s standard for the first few weeks of a new service. 296 was the same early on, just crawling. I’ll never understand the rule but nonetheless it exists and I think for the first few weeks 296 will actually be faster, as you observed. Still mystified that it doesn’t use North Drive 1 as part of its express sector

To be fair there was a bit of demand on the first evening peak bus even through 296 literally caught up at IKEA as well…probably most people that boarded thought they were actually gonna get a faster ride but in reality? Nah

Very crowded by the shuttle service to Courts store and IKEA store. They will discounted and bus service 460 can operate, but it needed to skipped 4 stops to form a shuttle.

I find it interesting they immediately jump on the “express feeder” option instead of the “bump up frequencies” option
10min peak, 15min off peak, seriously?
And funnily enough, the amount of time taken for 296 to travel between Tampines Int & St 64 is not that much, about 15min per direction
Yes yes Ave 6 is a nightmare during the peak hours, but St 64 residents are getting the seats first before the Ave 6 ppl do, so I don’t think there’s an issue there apart from the ahem ahem frequency

Not sure, i was also convinced it would go via nth dr 1 since it would’ve been faster compared to Ave 6
maybe they wanted it to dupe 296 as much as possible? 💀
