Introduction
East Coast Bus Depot is a future multi-storey bus depot. Currently under construction, the depot is part of East Coast Integrated Depot, an integrated rail and bus depot in the Sungei Bedok region which also serves the East-West Line, Downtown Line and Thomson-East Coast Line. The rail and bus depots are co-located to optimise land use and streamline construction processes.
The depot is intended to accommodate additional buses that are being introduced over the years, as the overall bus capacity increases under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) and Bus Contracting Model (BCM). The multi-story depot is designed for handling roughly 740 buses* and will be equipped with a Bus Operations Control Centre, parking spaces, refuelling and washing facilities, repair and maintenance facilities, and administrative offices to support day-to-day bus operations. Maintenance workshops, refuelling and washing facilities are located on the ground level and parking spaces for buses are located on the second and third levels.
When completed, East Coast Bus Depot will join other multi-storey bus depots in Singapore such as Tengah Bus Depot, Sengkang West Bus Depot, Woodlands Bus Depot, and Soon Lee Bus Depot.
