Choa Chu Kang Integrated Transport Hub

Choa Chu Kang Integrated Transport Hub is a future Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) located at Choa Chu Kang Town Centre, currently under planning. Rail connections are offered via Choa Chu Kang MRT / LRT Station along the North South Line, Jurong Region Line & Bukit Panjang LRT.

The town centre is currently served by the interim Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange since December 2018, in which the original interchange was demolished to make way for the future Jurong Region Line station.

Integrated Transport Hub

Choa Chu Kang Integrated Transport Hub was first mentioned in October 2023, in an exhibition for an upgrade of Choa Chu Kang town under the Housing Development Board (HDB) Remaking Our Heartland (ROH) programme.

Either it will be a new shopping mall or Lot1 will be expanded into an Integrated Development

From the image released by HDB, it looks like the JRL tracks will intersect with the NSL tracks north of Choa Chu Kang station.

If that’s the case, it may be possible to use the JRL trains to run along the NSL from Marina South Pier to Choa Chu Kang, and then connect with the JRL to run towards Tengah, Bahar Junction and Jurong Pier/NTU and back to Choa Chu Kang.

Wonder what’s the meaning of having this through-train service though. It may not even be feasible, in terms of the difference in train configuration, and the deployment of train along the JRL (West) and the rest of NSL between Choa Chu Kang and Jurong East.

So most probably, this is just an error in the drawing.

It’s very likely to be 2 ITHs. The 2nd temporary bus interchange probably just nearby, at Choa Chu Kang park, to facilitate easy route amendment.

The concept would be similar to the 南港轉運站 in Taipei, Taiwan, which would have 3 terminals combined to become one. Just a quick search of 南港轉運站 on Google Images would show the relevant maps, etc.
