Transport Arrangements for Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve 2015

On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve (24 December 2015 and 31 December 2015), there will be changes in the operating hours of selected bus services. Peak hour bus services will operate return trips in the early afternoon (instead of the evening), and night services will extend their operating hours, along with selected trunk services.

Peak Hour Bus Services

Special bus services that operate during the evening peak hours will have their operating hours revised. They will operate trips between 1pm and 2pm, and will not operate in the evening. Morning peak trips will remain unaffected.

Late Night Bus Services

SBS Transit Nite Owl services and selected SBS Transit trunk services plying the City areas will have their operating hours extended. SMRT NightRider services will not be extended.

Extended Train Operating Hours:

Train services on North-South, East-West, North-East, Circle and Downtown Lines, as well as the Bukit Panjang, Sengkang and Punggol LRTs, will be extended on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Last LRT departure timings will allow passengers transferring from the last train at the transfer station.

Extended Feeder Bus Operating Hours:

SBS Transit and SMRT will extend the operating hours of the following residential bus services – 51A, 60A, 63M, 173A, 181, 189A, 222, 225G, 228, 229, 232, 238, 240, 241, 243G, 261, 269, 282, 291, 292, 293, 300, 301, 302, 307, 315, 325, 333, 334, 358, 359, 410W, 804, 812, 859A, 901, 911, 912, 913, 941, 945 and 947 – to complement the extension of train operating hours and better serve residents in the heartlands.

Road Closures on New Year’s Eve

Bus services – 10, 36, 56, 57, 70M, 75, 77, 97, 100, 106, 111, 130, 131, 133, 162M, 167, 171, 195, 196, 400, 402, 700A, 502, 518, 857 and 960 – will skip bus stops along Bayfront Avenue, Collyer Quay, Connaught Drive, Esplanade Drive, Fullerton Road, Marina Boulevard, Raffles Avenue and Temasek Avenue. The bus stops will be closed in phases from 6.00pm on 31 December 2015 to 1.30am on 1 January 2016 and the buses diverted accordingly.

All six Nite Owl services, as well as NightRider NR2, NR5, NR7 and NR8 will skip bus stops along Raffles Avenue. They will commence service from the bus stop along North Bridge Road, in front of St. Andrew’s Cathedral. (Bus stop code 04167)

Diversion Details (6.00pm onwards):

• Service 10, 57, 100, 130, 131, 196 to skip Collyer Quay (OUE Bayfront) due to lane closure, no route diversion
• Service 36, 56, 70M, 97, 111, 133, 162M, 195 to skip Raffles Ave (Seating Gallery) and Raffles Ave (The Esplanade) due to lane closure, no route diversion

Diversion Details (9.00pm onwards):

• Service 97, 133, 400, 402 to skip Marina Blvd (The Sail) and Marina Blvd (Marina Bay Financial Ctr) due to lane closure. From 10.00pm onwards, full road closure will be implemented. Buses will likely be diverted via Raffles Quay, Shenton Way, Maxwell Road, MCE, Ctrl Blvd and Bayfront Ave.

Diversion Details (11.30pm till 1.30am): Full Road closures implemented.

• Esplanade Bridge Services 10, 57, 100, 130, 131, 196 to be diverted via Cross St, Eu Tong Sen St, Hill St, Victoria St, Middle Rd northbound and Stamford Rd, North Bridge Rd, Upp Pickering St, Church St and Finlayson Green southbound. Joined by Marina Blvd Services 97, 133 northbound to skip the whole of Marina Bay and Bayfront. Service 100, 130, 131 northbound will likely use High St, Parliament Pl, St. Andrew’s Rd.
• Raffles Avenue Services to be diverted via Suntec City or cease to serve the Marina Centre area
• Services 400, 402 to avoid Marina Blvd via Maxwell Rd and MCE
