    Actually, 194’s only section with bus stops (which is Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim), can be taken over by 251. The express segment of 194 can also be taken over by 251.

    This would mean 251 would skip Pioneer Road North and Boon Lay Way. Skipping Boon Lay Way not really have any impact, since right now also nobody take bus to or from that section one.

    Affected 251 passengers at Pioneer Road North can take 258 at Pioneer station.

    If really want to compensate 251’s section at Boon Lay Way, can amend 179 to cover, since 179’s main passengers take bus at Pioneer station, and 179’s section from Pioneer Road North (blk 704) to Boon Lay Int currently duplicate 241.

    With that, this would probably be the solution to remove 194. Just need to amend 251 to take over 194’s section, and then let 258 ownself cover Pioneer Road North section of existing 251, and probably amend 179 to cover existing 251’s section at Boon Lay Way.

    And considering 194 never join 252 and 79 to relocate from the end-on section to the sawtooth section, this is probably what’s going to happen.

      Actually, just to perfect the proposal a little,

      Whereas 251 can take over 194’s section,

      251’s skipped sector, it has to come from Boon Lay Int. Can let 192 take over, from Boon Lay Int to AYE, and then join back 192 current routing via Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim.

      192’s skipped sector, from Boon Lay Int to Joo Koon MRT, can let 258 take over. 258 still can loop around Boon Lay MRT, since statistically speaking, not many people take 192 at Boon Lay Int to go to the industrial area. Especially since they can take the bus at Pioneer station.

      258’s skipped sector, from JW St 64 to Pioneer MRT via JW St 81, can let 185 take over the section from JW St 82 to Pioneer MRT, with a slight retention of 185’s current routing at JW Ave 5 > Pioneer Road North > JW Ave 4 to maintain the connection of existing 185 commuters as much as possible. (JW St 64 to JW St 82 section, can take 243 and transfer to 185, or take 192 at Boon Lay Int.)

      (Affected 258 commuters can take 185 and change bus to 192 at Pioneer station, where the bus stop upgrading is currently ongoing.)

      The above are my final recommendations regarding this matter. It may seem messy, but I’m actually referring to Google Maps while I write this.

      Quite a massive route amendment actually. But it will help to optimise resources, remove 194, and remove the concern of 258 duplicating 243.

      More importantly, it would not touch 179.

      Instead, it is 251, 192, 258 and 185 being affected in this bus route rationalisation.

      With that, I am done.

    this route is quite pointless since Jurong bird park closed and most of 194’s route is express sectors along Jalan Boon Lay, and the lost sectors can be replaced by 172 being extended to Tuas in the future

    172 also could use an extension to tuas since there are a few buses from Boon Lay to CCK
    172 Could also served the workers along Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim to get to their homes in Boon Lay/Choa Chu Kang

      Good idea
      Regardless of whether 172 gets extended (probably not), I wouldn’t be surprised if 194 gets shut

    194 should extend to Jurong East via Jurong Town Hall, Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim(AYE Loop)

    Service 249 to cover lost sectors from Boon Lay

    Low demand is why services like 700 and 506 were withdrawn/shortened respectively. Even if 194 complements 79, just like the 190 and 972/75 & 184 extension (for 75 & 184) cases, it would be technically useless as people will be used to take 79 and walk rather than “get lost” on 194.

    Once Jurong Bird Park ceases operations, Service 194 will be withdrawn.

      Well, 194 can’t be removed without first getting a surrounding bus route to cover its industrial sector along Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim.

      The following are the 2 options that can be considered:

      1) No change to any bus route, 194 call at all bus stops along Jalan Boon Lay, thereby leading to capacity increase along Jalan Boon Lay. (Only financially viable if the demand warrants it.)

      2) Amend 194 to cover the Chin Bee industrial area, to complement 79 in covering the Chin Bee industrial area and enhance the public bus coverage in Chin Bee industrial area (those along International Road, which currently don’t have any bus stop). (This should be coupled together with 194 and 79’s bus berths shifting to become right next to each other, so that the 2 bus routes can effectively complement each other when picking up passengers at the Boon Lay Bus Interchange during the morning peak hours.) While calling at the bus stops along Jalan Boon Lay (so that affected passengers can take 249 along the way while getting to Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, for a potentially faster travel).

        make 194 serve the pair of bus stops it used to serve along Jurong west street 64, then at the looping point extend it to the nearest expressway and ply an express sector to a bus interchange
