      If it ends at an interchange, it doesn’t need to be a completely separate short trip since it won’t make a difference to passengers (end point and route is the same after all). The added confusion in numbering isn’t worth it in this case. The extra trips can just be classified as downroutes (with same numbering 872) instead of Short Trip 872B

        Unless they plan to extend 872 route, with the current route, I agree with you. End point is very similar.

          With 872A is a bit unless I rather you have a trip start from Chinese Garden Mrt to Tengah Int which can help to reduce the waiting time for 872
