Plans
Plans for Bus Service 984 were revealed to the media on 8 June 2025 by Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow. The route was one of eight services planned for the Brickland and Tengah areas due to be launched by end-2026, and would connect Brickland to Bukit Panjang and Jurong East MRT stations.
This new service number, 984, was revealed by Mr Siow on 10 August 2025 as part of a media engagement. A follow-up social media post on 9 October 2025 revealed that Service 984 would be operated by Tower Transit and would launch shortly.
On 26 October 2025, a social media post by Dr Vivian Balakrishnan (Minister for Foreign Affairs; MP for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC) featured a route map of Bus Service 984, presumably prepared by LTA. The map indicated that there were plans for Service 984 to serve Keat Hong Close, but this sector was omitted in the final route.

Back to Bus Services

lousy bus service. should not serve bukit panjang area. should just limit the coverage to jurong town hall and brickland only.
Now Bukit panjang is super well connected to all over place in Singapore. . Just feel very weird for the this service call in a last stop halfway through woodland road . Too bad integrated hub is very small if not this service sure 100% call at the last stop. Inside Integrated hub so small outside so many buses looping around the design of the Hub is bad. Causes all the traffic jamming around with packs of buses !
Yeah that right.
Bukit Panjang is the town being well connected from empty town till then. All thanks to our MPs serving well in our estate and understand on ground down to earth greet and interact with the residents
This is kinda misleading. Town progresses, and therefore it will be a problem if compared to last time nothing has changed. The central of bukit panjang is super accessible and by central it means Hillion mall, Bukit Panjang Plaza.
However if you look at inside such as Zheng hua, inside Bukit Panjang, it is actually not as connected. There iz no bus to woodlands , long detour throigh 976 to CCK , no bus to Jurong East or Boon lay, no bus to south of Singapore . So hope you can at least understand why the people inside Bukit Panjang are having it tough .
Not only that , you can compare with Yew Tee , but the scale of people living in Yew Tee vs Inside of Bukit Panjang is different . There is just too much People inside zbukit Panjang with lack of transport option . To top it off , morr BTOs and EC are building . You also have more than 2000 housing units coming up at Junction 10 there and Downtown line is already full at Bukit Panjang stop during peak hours .
So LTA , with this new 984 does not add value in the tiny bit and it is a failure by the plabner . I hope LTA read this should self- reflect . Moving life? More like stalling life .
OI! IF YOU ARE NOT BUKIT PANJANG RESIDENT. JUST SHUT UP! YOU DONT KNOW HOW WE FEEL IN BUKIT PANJANG TOWN! I STAY BUKIT PANJANG FOR ALMOST OF MY LIFE MORE THAN 30 YEARS. YOU DONT EVEN KNOW AT ALL! OR YOU COME AND SEE DURING PEAK HOURS OUR TRANSPORT HOW PEAK IS IT.
AND LAST THINGS, STOP IMPOSTING ME. I WILL REPORT YOU AND WARNING U!
I take back everything I’ve said. Sorry for being irrational, hostile, and mean in this statement. I promise to never set foot on this website again.
Why not make the bus pass by jelapang because 976 did not operate there and loop at segar back to Jurong town hall
Seriously, what is taking 5 mins for Zheng Hua residents to go CCK by car is talking 30 mins by BUS . LTA should self reflect .
Yeah, i agree with you.
They should have plys bukit panjang town then go to main road. It is so unfair that it taking 5mins along zhenghua area. Should feedback to our MP in bukit panjang.
lanjiao got LRT alr no? which sohai will want to take the bus?
lanpa LRT always break down? of course take bus la, more reliable leh
your username is nonsense because you are full of nonsense
It shld be more for people inside Zheng Hua which is far from LRT station . The current 984 route is useless as people in Senja can just take LRT, which you are kind of right . But by changing to going through Senja Hawker Centre it benefits many (which again are far from LRT station)
LTA might have overlook/made a mistake as it did not consider this .

It shluld go through Senja Hawker . Passengers were confused and they thoight 984 pass by there .
Brother, you never see the shit Bukit Panjang goes through issit? Why do you think 976 receives high demand even though the LRT exists. It’s called directness, speed and convenience. LRT is also goddamn unreliable
LRT can never beat buses
