Compassvale Bus Interchange reopens in 2026

Compassvale Bus Interchange will reopen in January 2026 to support upgrading works at Sengkang Bus Interchange. The facility, which ceased operations in December 2024, will be temporarily reactivated from 31 January until end-October 2026 to accommodate upgrading works at Sengkang Int.

According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the temporary relocation is required to facilitate the next phase of upgrading works, which will need access to a larger footprint within Sengkang Bus Interchange. These works include the upgrading of mechanical and electrical systems, refurbishment of the passenger concourse, and overhaul of the interchange driveway for waterproofing works.

Relocated Bus Services

During this period, five bus services—80, 86, 87, 372 and 374—will operate from Compassvale Bus Interchange, representing half of the ten services that currently terminate at Sengkang Bus Interchange. The relocated services will remain there for the duration of the construction works. These services were selected to ‘minimise overall inconvenience to commuters’.

Compassvale Bus Interchange is located about a five-minute walk across Sengkang Square from Sengkang Bus Interchange, and is accessible via pedestrian crossings and a covered overhead bridge. To ease the transition, service ambassadors will be deployed at both interchanges to assist commuters, including providing umbrellas during wet weather.

In addition to the interchange changes, a temporary bus stop along Sengkang Square (Bus Stop 67689) will be introduced for Bus Services 372 and 374. This will replace the existing G18 taxi pick-up and drop-off point, which will be closed from 9 January 2026 for conversion works. The temporary stop is intended to provide passengers with a more direct and sheltered connection to Sengkang MRT station.

Compassvale Bus Interchange is also slated for demolition by 2027. The demolition contract was awarded in December 2025, and includes the demolition of Compassvale Bus Interchange as well as the former Yishun Temporary Bus Interchange.

Berth Arrangements

At Compassvale Int, the boarding berth arrangements are:

156 gotta extend to Sengkang East back again. Definitely can remain at Buangkok ith. Just that I feel that residents are quite fed up when they suffer without 156 after being amended to buangkok ith. LTA pls do in a way that Sengkang East can have 156 but still remaining at buangkok ith.

I don’t see the need to. There’s barely anyone on board from Buangkok to Hougang Blk 953 stretch.

I love it. Would be nice if it was permanent. As surely more services will be needed in coming years for sengkang. And it will provide good capacity for sengkang services.

Just a thought, but its not possible anymore. Since the contract for the demolition has been awarded already. If anything, more services to Sengkang would likely come from Buangkok interchange instead.

There is no need for 156 to be in Sengkang when 43 104 and 109 literally serves Sengkang to Serangoon with higher frequency combined than 156. 109 covers way more areas of Serangoon than 43 and 104.
If your Parents are near Lorong Chuan MRT then be specific about Lorong Chuan and Not Serangoon.

Yishun Temp also need comeback until Chencaru is operational… Need to alleviate AC7, 39,85 and 103 there… 860 can start at Yishun ITH and loop at YCK instead and operated by TTS instead

Could Compassvale and Sengkang BI be combined? that way the capacity increases significantly and as for the supporting roads (such as the one into the condominium) can be restructured alongside the new extended BI. The new entry can be along sengkang square, and an exit at sengkang east way. It might take some time and inconvenience but it will be very sustainable for the future (expansion and intro of new routes) Just a thought 🙂

I strongly feel that LTA should extend 965 route to terminate at Buangkok ITH. Instead of currently looping at Sengkang.

They can do that too. Also can extend 950 via Yishun (effectively making AC7 redundant) while at it.

Better don’t, Yishun doesn’t have that spare capacity and it’s an interchange waiting for disaster to happen.I wish a couple of service can terminate elsewhere..
