In commemoration of Singapore’s 51st Birthday, Land Transport Guru checks out how the public transport scene is commemorating this special occasion.
Moove Media campaign
Moove Media, the advertising arm of ComfortDelgro, has put up Happy 51st Singapore hearts on SBS Transit-operated buses, bus interchanges and train stations.
Similar to last year’s #SpotMeRedDot campaign, Moove Media has launched another social media campaign using the hashtags #SpotTheRedHeart and #SpotTheRedDot. Participants stand to win prizes when they upload photos of the red heart onto social media platforms.
Bus Interchanges
Several SBS Transit Bus Interchanges bear the Happy 51st Singapore hearts in the interchange:
- Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange
- Bedok Bus Interchange
- Boon Lay Bus Interchange
Train Stations
- North East Line Stations
- Downtown Line Stations
Electronic Destination Signs
Both SBS Transit and Tower Transit has added a Happy National Day message into the bus electronic display signages. These messages can be seen alternating with the Bus Service’s Route Details.
Tower Transit
Tower Transit has took advantage of the Mercedes-Benz Citaro‘s high-density LED display signages to display their company logo and a Happy National Day message, while not obscuring the bus service number.
In addition, onboard the Tower Transit Mercedes-Benz Citaros, the Singapore flag is displayed in place of the service number when the bus is not in service.
Several MAN A22 buses were also spotted with the National Day scroll, accompanied by a modified version of the company logo. This scroll briefly obscures the service number.
SBS Transit
SBS Transit has also programmed a celebratory ‘Happy 51st National Day, Singapore!’ message on its Mercedes-Benz Citaros.
Freebies
Keeping up with its strong public relations, Tower Transit staff gave away collectible stickers and temporary tattoos at its bus interchanges and onboard Tower Transit buses on 5th and 8th August.
