BAS.MY Johor Bahru J21 is a Johor Bahru local bus service operated by Causeway Link, plying between JB Sentral and Permas Jaya.
Previously known as Route T21, this service was renumbered to Route J21 from 30 Sep 2025, as part of the rebranded BAS.MY Johor Bahru network. In addition, the route was amended to serve Jalan Permas 13, and skips Mid Valley / SOGO, replaced by the new route J15.

BAS.MY Johor Bahru J21 connects the Johor Bahru City Centre (JB Sentral) with the western suburb of Permas Jaya. It serves Stulang, Taman Pelangi, Bayu Puteri / Sri Stulang, and AEON Permas Jaya / Permas Mall.
Route Information:
The route was launched (Service T21) on 25 July 2022 as part of the myBAS Johor Bahru scheme (Phase 3), aimed at enhancing bus services in Johor Bahru.
The route took over existing JB Sentral ↔ Permas Jaya bus routes, such as Causeway Link 23, City Bus 123 and S&S 2, with the added detour to Mid Valley Southkey in both bounds. The route also does not enter Kampung Bakar Batu / Bayu Puteri in the direction of Permas Jaya, stopping only along the JB East Coast Parkway (outside Petronas Bayu Puteri).
It was renumbered to J21 under BAS.MY Johor Bahru from 30 September 2025, with a route amendment to skip Mid Valley Southkey, as well as a detour to serve Jalan Permas 13 and SMK Permas Jaya 3 in both directions. JB Sentral ↔ Mid Valley Southkey would be served by Route J15 instead.

First, one of your drivers was extremely rude. When I boarded the bus, I tried to tag my card, but the driver insisted that I pay with cash, even though I could clearly tag my card. I ended up giving both the cash and tagging my card, but the whole situation was confusing and unpleasant. The driver’s attitude was unprofessional and disrespectful.
Secondly, I experienced a deeply inappropriate situation with another driver who made sexually harassing remarks.
The driving was extremely dangerous. The driver was speeding and did not slow down when turning. This made me feel unsafe during the entire ride, and I am worried about the risk of accidents. Public transport should be a safe experience, but this driver’s behavior showed no concern for passenger safety.
Lastly, the buses are often very late. There have been several times when I had to wait for over an hour for a bus to arrive. This is not acceptable, and it causes a lot of inconvenience to passengers who depend on the service.
Cash fare to midvalley supposed to be RM1.50 but driver will purposely ask for RM2.00 and press “AEON” or “Renaissance” or even last stop to artificially inflate the printed price on the ticket.
Same can’t be done on return journey from Midvalley to JB Sentral so driver will purposely not give ticket, because it’ll show as RM1.50
However u can pay by Manjalink or any Visa (physical or phone such as Apple Pay) card (0% foreign exchange fee) for RM1.50 fare (or RM1.55 if paid using Singapore bank cards such as DBS/POSB Card with 3.25% fee included)
Bus service very bad… Passenger is sitting on bus stop but bus driver not stop the bus on bus stop. Waiting so long time for bus but driver do this. If passenger sitting on bus stop than driver must stop the bus na… Why not stop? 😠
