Jurong Island Bus Services

Jurong Island is an artificial island off the south coast of Jurong Port, created through land reclamation and the joining up of seven smaller islands. Today, it is home to many petrochemical industries, and access is limited to staff and visitors with valid security passes.

The boarding point for all Jurong Island Bus Services is at Bus Stop 28061, J Gateway, along Boon Lay Way. The bus stop is next to Westgate Shopping Centre. Dedicated queue line markings are painted on the floor to allow smooth boarding and passenger flow.

Previously, Jurong Island Bus Services used to start from Jurong East Temporary Bus Interchange, before being moved out to Boon Lay Way in August 2015 due to a lack of parking lots for the increasing number of public bus services at Jurong East.

As such, commuters are required to utilise the On-Demand Bus Service through the “JI – ODBS” app for travel within Jurong Island, to Jurong Island Checkpoint, or to Boon Lay MRT Station.

On-Demand Bus Service Operating Hours:

  • Weekdays: 09:30 – 22:30
  • Weekends & Public Holidays: 07:30 – 22:30

  • Within Jurong Island: $2.50
  • From / To Jurong Island Checkpoint: $2.50

Operators

Operations for the Jurong Island Bus Services are currently contracted to Tong Tar Transport Service effective 1 May 2025. Previous operators include ComfortDelGro Bus from November 2020, Woodlands Transport from 30 July 2015, Transit Network Consortium (TNC) from 30 June 2003 and SBS from 1 June 2000.

Prior to TNC, SBS used to operate these services, using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered Volvo B10BLE buses.

Only staff members are allowed to take 715, 716 and 718 to/from JE as visitors must go to the pass office to collect and return their passes and can only take the bus within Jurong Island.

The bus 716 is supposed to arrive at 0640hrs, not to arrive at 0636 or 0637 and leave at 0639hrs. Everyday this is happening. Pls advise. All the commuters are not happy. This isnt right. Pls reply. I will need to complain to the relevant authorities if this still persists. People are travelling from very far early morning. 0640hrs is already too early and your driver is inconsiderate. PLS REPLY. THANKS…
