A SBS Transit bus was burnt down on the Pan-Island Expressway on 13 February 2026.
The Mercedes-Benz Citaro bus was an off service bus, likely returning to Bukit Batok Bus Depot, when it caught fire.
Videos circulating online show the bus engulfed in flames on the road shoulder of PIE near exit 24, with thick black smoke can be seen rising as the fire was seen spread across the entire bus.
Another photo shows the bare structure of the bus after the fire was put out by firefighters.
The incident occured at 11:45am, which caused multiple lanes to be a closed off to traffic and a massive congestion tailing back all the way to Eng Neo Avenue. With only one lane passable to traffic, congestion ensued into the evening peak hours.

At around 5pm, the burnt wreckage of the bus was lifted up by a crane and transported away to a corner of Bukit Batok Bus Depot.
In 2013, a similar incident occured when an off-service Volvo B10MÂ bus (SBS1965K) was making its way to Shenton Way Bus Terminal in the morning when it caught fire.
