A decommissioned MRT train carriage (Car 3326; C751B Train) is set to be up-cycled to be a boutique co-living hotel located at LaunchPad @ one-north. Developed by local startup Tiny Pod, this new hospitality concept will be piloted with the support of JTC.
The train hotel is an extension to their pop-up shipping container hotel at the same place, which was launched in 2020.
Location & Amenities
At LaunchPad @ one-north, the train hotel will be located at the car park next to Block 69 Ayer Rajah Crescent.
A public recreational green space will be developed beside the co-living train hotel. Integrated with food and beverage vending machines and bicycle racks, this new amenity node will also incorporate repurposed train chairs as outdoor public benches.
Rooms
A total of 8 rooms will be housed in the train cabin, each equipped with an attached bathroom.
Additionally, LCD panels mounted inside the driver’s compartment will depict real-life footage of the train’s earlier journey through the tunnel, creating an immersive experience for guests.
The co-living train hotel’s smart lock system will be provided by local start-up Igloo Home.
Construction
Renovation works have commenced in March 2024, with the co-living train hotel anticipated to be operational in September 2024.
On 5 June 2024, C751B train car 3326 was transported from Tuas West Depot to the site of the hotel, while the remaining two cars of the trainset (cars 1326 and 2326) were scrapped.
In a Chinese news report by 8World on 26 August 2024, it was reported that the hotel would not be able to open by September 2024 as planned due to the delay in renovation work. The revised operational start date for the hotel would be by the end of 2024.

first it was train seats of decommissioned trains in Yishun Northpoint and HDBs near Northpoint, now, there is a train car of a decommissioned train as a tiny hotel in One-north. If Ryan Trahan makes a video about checking out tiny hotels in Asia, then he would go to the train shaped hotel in Singapore to check it out in that video.
