Xilin MRT Station (DT36) is an underground station along the Downtown Line Stage 3 Extension (DTL3e). It is built underneath the junction of Xilin Avenue, Changi South Avenue 3 and Laguna Golf Green.
Taking its name from Xilin Avenue, which passes overhead, Xilin station serves industries around Changi South, as well as the nearby Tanah Merah Country Club.
History
Xilin Station was announced on 15 August 2014 as part of the DTL3e, a 2-station westward extension of the DTL between Xilin and Sungei Bedok.
The station was initially targeted for completion by 2024. In 2022, its completion was pushed back to 2025, and later at COS 2024, was further pushed back to 2026. At COS 2025, the extension was projected to open in the 2nd Half of 2026. Delays were attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic and unspecified challenges involving tunnelling near existing critical infrastructure.
