SBS Transit is currently the largest bus operator in Singapore, running about 250 bus services with a fleet of over 3200 buses. The company was formed by the merger of three private bus companies in 1973. It was named Singapore Bus Services (SBS) until November 2011, where it was renamed SBS Transit to reflect its bi-modal status as both a bus and rail operator.
SMRT Buses was originally Trans Island Bus Services (TIBS), was merged into SMRT Corporation in May 2004.
Tower Transit Singapore is the third public bus operator in Singapore, which will run bus services tendered under the Bulim Bus Package from 29 May 2016. Find out more here.
