Tengah Bus Depot is an upcoming multi-storey bus depot. The depot is envisioned as an integrated rail and bus depot in the Tengah region (Tengah Integrated Depot) which also serves the Jurong Region Line (JRL). The rail and bus depots are co-located to optimise land use and streamline construction processes.

The depot is intended to accommodate additional buses that are being introduced over the years, as the overall bus capacity increases under the Bus Contracting Model (BCM).  The multi-story depot is designed for handling roughly 600 buses and will be equipped with a Bus Operations Control Centre, parking spaces, refuelling and washing facilities, repair and maintenance facilities, and administrative offices to support day-to-day bus operations.

When completed, Tengah Bus Depot will join other multi-storey bus depots in Singapore such as East Coast Bus Depot, Sengkang West Bus Depot, Woodlands Bus Depot, and Soon Lee Bus Depot. To optimise land use, the depot will also include a four-storey transport workers’ dormitory that can accommodate 450 bus captains.

The dormitory is expected to be located at 5 Tengah Close, Singapore 699853.

Construction

Contract J101 – Design and Construction of Tengah Depot and Associated Facilities for Jurong Region Line was awarded to Railway 11 Bureau Group Corporation (Singapore Branch) in November 2019 at a total contract value of $739.5 million. Construction of Tengah Depot is expected to commence in 2020 and is slated for completion in 2026.

I have my doubts this depot is for Bulim. There’s another one in Tuas, which seems more likely considering the geographical location to Bulim (It’s literally further down via PIE).

I would think this is for UPDEP, considering UPD also sits on reserved land. West only have 2 depots, either Tuas or Tengah. Sending UPD buses to Tuas just does not make any sense.

The Tengah Bus Depot will likely to be handed over to Tower Transit in 2027 in time for the opening in 2028 as this bus depot is allocated to all Bulim Bus Package bus services that will replace Bulim Bus Depot.

I really feel that this depot will replace Bulim as the depot is situated at reserved site for future industrial development.Just nice Bulim contract expires in 2026.

It’s actually swapped depot between soon Lee and Tengah. Tengah actually closer operations for Jurong East , BB area. Bulim depot is more suitable for Jurong West bus routes and replacement for soon Lee
