Tawas MRT Station

Tawas MRT Station (JW2) is an elevated station located along the Jurong Region Line (JRL) Phase 1. It is built near CleanTech Park, bringing rail connectivity to future developments in the area.

The station is targeted for completion and opening in Year 2027.

The opening was announced to be delayed by about one year in a Written Reply by Minister for Transport Ong Ye Kung to Parliamentary Question on Prioritising Early Completion of Jurong Region MRT Line on 1 Feb 2021, with COVID-19 cited as a reason.

Train Services will turnaround at this station when the Jurong Region Line (Phase 1) opens in 2027.

Tawas station has two platforms in a side platform arrangement.

The station platforms are built to four-car length to cater for future expansion, although trains will only operate in a three-car formation.

Tawas MRT station will likely have four exits leading to ground level. More details will be confirmed closer to the opening of the station.

Construction Trivia

Tawas Station will be constructed as part of Contract J107 – Design and Construction of Gek Poh Station, Tawas Station and Viaducts for Jurong Region Line, which was awarded to Sembcorp Design and Construction Pte Ltd. at a contract value of $226.6 million in February 2020.
