SBS Transit Express 518B was an Express service running from Tampines Avenue 7 and looping at Suntec City, passing through Tampines Avenue 2, Bedok North Road and Orchard. It was a peak hour variant of Express 518, skipping Pasir Ris. It was discontinued from Monday, 26 April 2010, following the route extension for Express 518 to Bayfront.

Express Service 518B was a route variant of Express 518, connecting residential estates around Tampines with the City areas, such as Moulmein, Orchard Road and Marina Centre. It incorporated an express sector from Bedok North Road to Moulmein Road via Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) & Central Expressway (CTE), and from Temasek Avenue to Bedok North Road via East Coast Parkway (ECP) & Bedok South Avenue 1. Two trips were operated on weekday mornings and evenings, except on public holidays.
The route was popular among residents in Tampines as a fast bus connection between home and City. Express 518B operated in place of Express 518 during peak hours on weekdays, with its service area in Pasir Ris covered by Express 518A simultaneously. The splitting of full trips of Express 518 into 518A & 518B was aimed at improving the overall reliability of the service and improving travel time during peak periods.
Express 518B was discontinued from Monday, 26 April 2010, when Express 518 was extended to serve the new developments in the Bayfront area. At the same time, special departures of Express 518 were introduced from Tampines Ave 7 (Blk 370) during morning peak hours on weekdays, replacing part of the morning peak route for Express 518B. Its last day of operation was on Friday, 23 April 2010.
