Could have been cut short to start from Bedok Int looping at circuit link instead. (It does not fully duplicate DTL3, it was DTL2 that it duplicated
Should have introduced 66M to start from Jurong East looping at Beauty World MRT instead of cutting 66.
It duplicated by 228, 67 & 65 already. So that’s why LTA shorten 66 to Beauty World instead. Do you know that 66 was originally planned to be withdrawn due to DTL, but because of amendment to East Ave 6 & West Ave 8 in June 2019, Tower Transit Service 66 had been allowed to continue as Jurong East – Beauty World MRT as it’s not duplicated by DTL
I live somewhere in the east where 66 used to serve. I took this too school last time. I usually never go beyond Serangoon Rd on this route. So f I am the authorities I would have made it as Bedok – Kitchener Rd (Loop)
At least let 22 cover for 66 between Bedok and Ubi. Going to Eunos is rather pointless. Worst case, 22 extend to Airport and 24 shortened to Bedok. The DD fleet from 22 can be swapped for the SDs from 24.
Dear all,
As i understand that your are very unhappy the Service 66 serves commuters from Jurong East to Beauty World Station from 12th December 2021. This bus, i often took from Macpherson to Bugis, it such a big lost at my workplace. It’s okay, neverminded. LTA just amend the Service without seeking the Bus Operators approvals and yet they anyhow change and makes us inconvenience caused.
I am writing to LTA to integrated to Tower Transits Service 171 and Withdraw of Svc 66 to operate between Yishun to Jurong East and Jurong East to Yishun.
Here’s the routes, hope it’s will be great offers for the commuters:
Yishun via
– Yishun Avenue 5
– Sembawang Road
– Mandai Avenue
– Mandai Road
– BKE
– Bukit Panjang Road
– Upper Bukit Timah Road
– Jalan Anak Bukit
– Jalan Jurong Kechil
– Bukit Batok East Avenue 6
– Bukit Batok West Avenue 6
– Bukit Batok Road
– Jurong Town Hall Road
– Jurong East Central
– Jurong Gateway Road
– Jurong East Interchange
“MacPherson to Bugis”
CCL + EWL or DTL
Waiting more than 30 mins for 66 still waiting fr 1210pm to1245pm when supposed to be 15 to 20 mins….
66 should cut back to Bukit Batok-Bedok instead no need to go Jurong East.
Although there is 197 to Jurong East-Bedok, but then…… Service 66 demand is still running strong between Jurong East-Bukit Timah sector…… So cannot cut short.
A lot of commuters definitely take 66 only from Jurong East to Beauty World. With the loss of people in Mustafa, City Square Mall; and infrequent 15-20 min arrivals, I think its finally time for 66 to go. And especially Bulim staff knows that as a new contract, Bedok seems to be far away. Also; with COVID, social gatherings has been reduced and movement has been further reduced, even WFH seems to be a new normal for now.
Just shorten 66 to Toa Payoh Interchange lah. Ridiculous to loop at Jalan Jurong Kechil la
Merge with 157 and let the latter loop at BW MRT instead.
I agree. Service 66 should be shorten to serve Toa Payoh Interchange, so the route should be Jurong East Int > Toa Payoh Int as Direction 1, and Toa Payoh Int > Jurong East Int as Direction 2, together with Bus 143.
No. Service 66 must stay as it is and cannot be shortened
I agree. Petition to stop 66 shortening: https://chng.it/krCWBxhF
Why? It is paralleled by the MRT and other routes on many sectors.
