City Direct Service 666 provides residents of Punggol with greater connectivity to the Central Business District and Suntec City. The service provides a travel alternative for commuters who relied on the rail network and feeder buses to and from the CBD. The route incorporates an express sector between Punggol Way and Anson Rd via TPE, CTE, Outram Road and Cantonment Road.

This is the sixteenth City Direct service to be introduced under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP), which provides more options for commuters using stretches of the existing rail lines that experience persistently high ridership, while the ongoing rail enhancement measures are being implemented. Rides were provided free-of-charge on its first day of service.

The route was further enhanced under the Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP) from 25 November 2024, with a route extension to Suntec City via Bayfront.

If the eves of Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Chinese New Year fall on a weekday, the Evening Peak departures will be brought forward to the afternoon. Revised departure times will be provided by the operator closer to the affected date.

Travel Smart Journeys

This bus service is part of the Travel Smart Journeys – North-East Line Scheme from 20 Mar 2023 – 22 Nov 2024, where commuters who switch to this service can earn cashback in the form of e-transport vouchers.

I wasted half an hour this morning to wait bus 666 in punggol cove station since 720am to 750am, there was no bus at all. Is the bus still in operation? Please don’t waste others time if the the bus services stopped already.

Would like to complain about your driver of bus service 666, the 6:15pm route from town to punggol, bus plate no. 4425.
Driver did not stop despite passenger press “STOP” button before the desire bus stop. It had happened twice in my two rides home.
First was before bustop at blk 196A, another day was blk 173b.
Passenger went over to the driver and asked why didn’t he stop, he said the bell was pressed after the bus stop. For the second incidence, he said u didn press the bell. But, I heard the stop bell before the bus stop. Of course that Passenger denied his statement, and the driver just kept quite without apologies.
This is not acceptable! I think he was dreaming! He made the passenger walk back one bus stop away!
He is lucky so far I have not seen any passenger scolded him, cos we are white collars. If he met a blue collar, he may not be so lucky ya!
    Please discipline your driver.

Suggest additional AM and PM trip. Bus is full by the time it reaches bus stop opposite Block 272C (AM trips). Passengers @ bus stops before bus stops before have other premium bus services at or around their area/bus stops so they can choose to board whichever bus that is cheaper and/or arrives first but not for us residing around and after Block 272C. Not smart. You are losing many potential passengers because of this.
