Bus Service 974 is a trunk service from Joo Koon, looping at Bukit Panjang MRT. The route enhances inter-town connectivity and provides Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang residents with access to existing bus services plying Nanyang Technological University and Jurong Industrial Estate. It will also enhance connectivity in the west by linking Bukit Panjang Station (Downtown Line) and Choa Chu Kang Station (North-South Line) to Boon Lay, Pioneer and Joo Koon Stations (East-West Line).
The route relieves end-to-end demand on Service 172 by providing an express bus corridor along the Kranji Expressway (KJE), offering faster journeys between Choa Chu Kang and Boon Lay, as well as complementing existing bus connections between Boon Lay and Joo Koon. Connecting directly to Joo Koon, the route will also benefit commuters travelling between the north of Singapore and industries at Joo Koon via train, reducing the need to transfer between the North South Line and East West Line at Jurong East.

I prefer them to plan as a loop service in Bukit panjang area, especially on Northen side (BB Ring Road/Sejar) area, instead of crowding all the buses services to loop at Hillion Mall.
Take Woodland road/KJE to Lot1 (like BPS1), then follow 975 to Brickland Rd and enter KJE again.
Exist Jln Bahar, JW Ave 5, JW St 71/61, EW28, Pioneer Road North, International Road to JK.
People go to Joo Koo to work. So is better for this svc to provide alternatives for JW & BP/CCK to Jurong industrial sector.
I think the bus service 974 will be start at bukit panjang int as it make not confuses like the same bus stop going to joo koon and bukit panjang at Bukit panjang Exit A/Lrt bus stop.
Yeah, Definitely good news.
I will feedback to LTA and TTS for the routing within Bukit Panjang as I realize the route starting and ending trip is the same it may cause commuters confuses towards Bukit Panjang and Joo Koon.
I have already discuss with TTS and LTA, as they agree that I write in to them for doing changes on it only for Bukit Panjang Area.
Since TTS is shortage of buses,Is better that LTA lease them a few A95 and the 2 Citaros at Bulim
Dont make me laugh. Shortage of buses? I remember TTS had lots of citaro from batch 3, b9tl from batch 2/3/4.
As of today, TTS only had buses between 1001 to 1010 for citaro, where several buses were leased back to LTA.
Batch 4 buses, majority were also leased back to LTA and deployed on SMRT.
Batch 2 and 3 buses, quite a handful was leased back to LTA and re-deployee on GAS.
You pray that this service better be introduced by late april, otherwise, all those A95 is going to go to HGDEP to replace the tridents(If those tridents are gone, theres no way HGDEP is able to cope with 4 extra DD currently.)
BTW, the datamall showed 974 using single decker which TTS still had some spares left despite the weekdays duties, so, theres no way they will get A95.
Wow! Will be good faster bus service 974 from Bt Panjang to joo koon… Hopefully will be announment soon… 😀😀😀
