Bus Service 974 is a trunk service from Joo Koon, looping at Bukit Panjang MRT. The route enhances inter-town connectivity and provides Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang residents with access to existing bus services plying Nanyang Technological University and Jurong Industrial Estate. It will also enhance connectivity in the west by linking Bukit Panjang Station (Downtown Line) and Choa Chu Kang Station (North-South Line) to Boon Lay, Pioneer and Joo Koon Stations (East-West Line).
The route relieves end-to-end demand on Service 172 by providing an express bus corridor along the Kranji Expressway (KJE), offering faster journeys between Choa Chu Kang and Boon Lay, as well as complementing existing bus connections between Boon Lay and Joo Koon. Connecting directly to Joo Koon, the route will also benefit commuters travelling between the north of Singapore and industries at Joo Koon via train, reducing the need to transfer between the North South Line and East West Line at Jurong East.

Is 974 the first bus service under the BCM era to have been operated by 3 different operators?
When SMRT takes over 974, they shld amend it to BPITH and make it bidirectional. Then 974A can shorten to start from BPITH end at lot 1. To make space can make 180 loop around the area like 974 does now and 180 & 974 switch bcm package
please fix ur bus frequency.waited 24 mins for this bus. absolutely unacceptable. frequency here says its max 16 mins. so what’s the problem
When Jurong West Bcm is taken over by smrt next year, 974 will finally belong to its suitable operator
What is the last time for 974 departure from bukit panjang? As I wanted to take it home from Choa Chu kang but was surprised when the bus app lied to me and 974A showed up…
Hi Ivan,
The last bus for 974 is approximately at 2245hrs (10:45p.m.), thereafter, Service 974A will be operating.
Hope this helps!
Yours faithfully,

Hmm, a year ago 974 was handed over to SBS Transit
my suggestion is 944 was lucky to get 974s old operator
But i wish 974 would be operated by SMRT Buses
maybe BKPJ ITH can just turn into a bigger interchange.
+117s operator makes no sense
it should be operated EITHER by Tower transit or Go-Ahead, as i suggest maybe tower transit cuz most of sembawang bus interchange is covered with tts buses
point 3:110 can be extended to woodlands interchange or either be operated by sbst
