Bus Service 974 is a trunk service from Joo Koon, looping at Bukit Panjang MRT. The route enhances inter-town connectivity and provides Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang residents with access to existing bus services plying Nanyang Technological University and Jurong Industrial Estate. It will also enhance connectivity in the west by linking Bukit Panjang Station (Downtown Line) and Choa Chu Kang Station (North-South Line) to Boon Lay, Pioneer and Joo Koon Stations (East-West Line).
The route relieves end-to-end demand on Service 172 by providing an express bus corridor along the Kranji Expressway (KJE), offering faster journeys between Choa Chu Kang and Boon Lay, as well as complementing existing bus connections between Boon Lay and Joo Koon. Connecting directly to Joo Koon, the route will also benefit commuters travelling between the north of Singapore and industries at Joo Koon via train, reducing the need to transfer between the North South Line and East West Line at Jurong East.

- 2021 (23 Jan): Amended to start from Joo Koon Int and loop at Upp Bt Timah Rd (Bukit Panjang MRT) with the closure of Bt Panjang Temp Bus Pk

I rather see TTS take over 180 than this 974.
96,282,284 & 285 should let Bt Merah package take over since off service route to UPDEP is much nearer than Bulim.Replacement should be 157,174,174e and 198.
LTA top up 15 A95,25 B9TL & a few Citaros.
This will be a great addition! Will this bus connection between Boon Lay and Choa Chu Kang be faster than by MRT including waiting & changing time?

Strange to see that 974 will be taking berth B2 in Joo Koon Bus Interchange.
This means four bus services in 2, while two bus services in B1.

Probably one of the bus services currently occupying Berth B2 will be relocated to Berth B1.
I feel like it is also intended to replace 67 between CCK and Bukit Panjang, as it follows the same route (CCK Way and CCK Road), maybe a potential truncation or cancellation of 67 due to DTL?
Regardless 67 still recieve generous passenger load at the eastern end even after the opening of dtl3 soo cancellation seems unlikey.
