SBS Transit now offers Free Bus Wi-Fi on board SG5999Z, SBS Transit’s 3-door, 2-staircase MAN Lion’s City DD L Concept Bus. The concept bus is presently deployed on Bus Service 7 since 2 April 2018, as part of an SBS Transit trial.
Adding on to the new features present on the bus, StarHub Free Wi-Fi was installed onboard this bus in late April 2018. The Wi-Fi network does not require a password, and commuters only need to select the select the network “freewifi@svc7” to connect to the internet.
After reaching the launch screen, commuters can immediately start enjoying free Wi-Fi at a tap of the “Connect” button.
Free Wi-Fi onboard buses are also available on Service 291, which has been provided by StarHub since 31 July 2017.
The concept bus was commissioned by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to investigate the feasibility of introducing such double-deck buses on Singapore roads. The bus is packed with commuter-friendly features, including seats with headrests, USB charging ports, stylish interior and staircase lighting.
