Kim Chuan Bus Depot is an upcoming bus depot co-located with an expansion of Kim Chuan MRT Depot.
It is slated for completion in 2026, and will serve as the bus depot for the Serangoon–Eunos Bus Package.

Introduction
Kim Chuan Bus Depot is a multi-storey bus depot covering 8 hectares. Currently under construction as part of the Kim Chuan Depot Extension, the depot is envisioned as an integrated rail and bus depot in the Kim Chuan region, which also serves the Circle Line and Downtown Line. The rail and bus depots are co-located to optimise land use and streamline construction processes. Contract 821A (C821A) for the construction of Kim Chuan Depot Extension (KCDE) was awarded to Woh Hup (Private) Limited for S$1,211.74 million in September 2017.
The depot is intended to accommodate additional buses that are being introduced over the years, as the overall bus capacity increases under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) and Bus Contracting Model (BCM). The multi-story depot is designed for handling roughly 550 buses and will be equipped with a Bus Operations Control Centre, parking spaces, refuelling and washing facilities, repair and maintenance facilities, and administrative offices to support day-to-day bus operations.
When completed, Kim Chuan Bus Depot will join other multi-storey bus depots in Singapore, such as East Coast Bus Depot, Sengkang West Bus Depot, Tengah Bus Depot, Woodlands Bus Depot, and Soon Lee Bus Depot.
Design
Kim Chuan Bus Depot spans three floors. It is primarily served by a new access road (Hougang Close) connected to Hougang Avenue 3, serving both the bus and rail depot. Similar to all new bus depots, the refuelling and washing facilities are located right after the depot entrance. These facilities are located on the second open-air portion of the depot, corresponding to the second floor. After the refuelling and washing facilities, ramps take buses to the multi-storey parking area.
Operational History
Kim Chuan Bus Depot is currently slated for completion in 2026.
The bus depot is allocated to the Serangoon–Eunos Bus Package, which was put up for tender in December 2025. The new operator will operate bus services from this depot from June 2027.

I hope Tower Transit Singapore will win the Kim Chuan Bus Depot as an anchor operator for this bus depot and allocated to Serangoon-Eunos Bus Package from June 2027 as it is subject to changes.
Yes cause SBST has the Sengkang West, SMRT with Gali Batu and Go Ahead with East Coast all with majority charger for EV buses.
It may look 3 storey but hell it’s a lot bigger than Sengkang West…
No way HGDEP have enough space to fit 200 more buses when its over bursting in capacity.
Before SWDEP opened, it already housed more than 800 buses when I tabulated it that time.
Right now, SWDEP is kicking the diesel buses back to HGDEP somemore.
Kim Chuan depot looks very small also, might be smaller than sengkang west. The capacity i would assume, is more like around 450 parking spaces instead.
Seems to be all existing serangoon-eunos bus services would be placed there cum end 2025 which coincides with the demolition. Those that arent, might be housed at HGDEP till lease expiry 2027.
But before that, east coast integrated depot is expected to open before that, so, chances are, expect some services to shift to BNDEP/ECDEP, like 8, 26 for instance under Bedok package.
Even ECID is also limited to 550 buses due to electric charging lots.. Bedok North also need EXTENSION.LTA can temporarily built a bus park with pump island and bus wash for Bedok North and Braddell until a suitable place is located for these 2 packages… Bedok site 400 capacity and Bishan-Toa Payoh site 350..
It’s exactly 502 lots due to those stupid electric chargers… And it’s 90% completed and waiting for LTA to announce it by October only then the balance 200 buses from Braddell to transfer to Hgdep.
Kim Chuan allocation for some Bishan-Toa Payoh svc will be 130 lots.
Guess svc 21,26,52,54,56,88 and 410.
The rest including dual control will park at Braddell and Toa Payoh Int respectively.
