The second of “Our Bus Journey” Bus Carnival, organized by the Land Transport Authority, will be held at VivoCity Outdoor Plaza on 25-27 March 2016 (Friday – Sunday), from 11am to 8pm. It is preceded by the Bus Carnival at Ngee Ann City organized two weeks earlier.
Most of the interactive exhibits from the previous exhibition will be on display for the weekend. Based on the theme “Past, Present and Future”, exhibits such as bus models, bus simulators, game booths and bus displays will be available without any admission fee.
The winning colour for the LTA’s “Colour Your Buses” campaign, Lush Green, was announced on the first day of the previous exhibition. Two concept buses painted in the colour, MAN Lion’s City DD and Alexander Dennis Enviro500, will be once again open for public viewing. The Singapore Traction Company Vintage Bus will also be on display. However, the SBS Transit Mercedes-Benz Citaro, which was present at the Ngee Ann City carnival, will not be present.
One can get their hands on the elusive transport miniatures and trinkets at the Knackstop concept store, which will also be open in this carnival.
The capsule machines, containing the six limited-edition figurines of bus personalities, will also make a comeback at this carnival. It previously appeared at roving pop-up booths at various bus interchanges in early March 2016. One can get a spin by either giving feedback after checking out the concept buses, or by spending at least S$20 in a single receipt at the Knackstop store.
At the same time, Go-Ahead Group’s New Bus for London will be taking a tour around the city, and will pass by the bus carnival along Telok Blangah Road. Check out this article for more information and photos of its city tour.
