The Interchange:
Plans for the interchange were first mooted as part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s 2019 Draft Masterplan and also in the Land Transport Master Plan 2040. The interchange would be sited within the Punggol Digital District, Singapore’s pilot Enterprise District comprising JTC’s mixed-use developments, and the Singapore Institute of Technology’s (SIT) new campus.
The bus interchange would be developed by JTC Corporation, the statutory board that develops Singapore’s industrial land. Within the PDD, the interchange is sited at ground level just west of Punggol Coast MRT station (designated JTC Parcel CC1 in planning diagrams), a business park development comprising PDD Towers 1, 2 and 3.
Based on available diagrams, the bus interchange will have a combined vehicular ingress/egress via a signalised junction along Sentul Walk. The site is bounded by Punggol Way to the north, the Punggol Heritage Trail (former Punggol Road) to the east, and Campus Boulevard to the south.
The Land Transport Authority referenced the name ‘Punggol North Bus Interchange’ in a travel guide for residents of Punggol Point Woods housing estate (dated September 2023).
However, in June 2024, the operator poster for the amendment of Service 84 indicates that the interchange is named as “Punggol Coast ITH”. Locality maps at the newly opened Teck Lee LRT Station also indicated the bus interchange as “Punggol Coast”.

Confirmed services to Punggol Coast:
(Subject to change because LTA cannot make up their minds; look at the sudden change of plans for 230)
104 – Renumbered from 43M, extended to Woodleigh ITH via Serangoon Ave 1 & Bidadari Pk Dr
117/M – Extended, serves new pair of stops along Punggol Place outside PTINT
383 – New (and useless) Feeder Service plying Sentul Wk, Sentul Cres, Punggol Pl, loop in PTINT. That is legit all to this “amazing new service” for now
Under Planning:
34 – Extended
34e – Useless bus service that discourages peeps to transfer buses and make them lazy. Skips Tampines
34 – Seems reasonable to extend to PCITH as this will benefit PDD workers and SIT students/staff living in the east. Wonder if the lack of DDs on 34 will a problem for peak hour demand though.
34e – Not sure what will be point of this since there’s already 110 and 858 to CGA from the TPE slip road bus stop. I don’t believe that the demand between airport and Punggol will be high enough to justify this service.
104 – Not sure what’s the point of this either as it is going to be a mere duplicate of 43 and NEL (to an extent). I guess its intended to function as a another NEL backup akin to 82 and 147.
117/M – Good move to extend to PCITH as this will benefit PDD workers and SIT students/staff living in the north. Maybe can even consider introducing a peak hour express variant which skips Seletar Aero Park if the demand is strong enough.
383 – Seems utterly pointless and huge waste of money in running this service if this is indeed going to the final routing. Why is this service is even needed if one can simply extend 104 or 117/M along this proposed route.
Some thoughts: I feel 84G/W can be discontinued by having one service (ideally 34) replace its Northshore/Punggol Way sectors and the proposed 104 take over its Punggol Rd/New Punggol Rd sector using red/white plates along the Punggol Settlement stops.
34,43/M,82,83,84,85,118,119 & 136 can start from Punggol Coast. While waiting for the Punggol ITH(Temp Int) to complete,LTA can built interim Int opp the Int itself. All the feeders should stay there with a couple of new service to other areas.
It is certain
If this ITH only has 24 parking lots then i think Punggol Temporary Interchange is to stay.
Punggol Coast Int was never meant to replace Punggol Temp Int. The latter will be redeveloped into an ITH at a later date.
If 84G/W were to be amended to Punggol Coast ITH, then the route would have a big change as some sectors would lose connection to other sectors. The only efficient way I see this could happen is:
84G: Punggol Coast ITH – Sentul Walk – Punggol Way – Northshore Cres – Northshore Dr – New Punggol Rd – Punggol Rd – Punggol Ctrl – Punggol Walk – Sumang Lk – Punggol Way – Sentul Walk – Punggol Coast ITH.
In this scenario the Punggol Coast Estate—SIT—Punggol MRT sector is conserved, but the whole Sam Kee LRT sector is lost due to 84 needing to still serve Punggol MRT. The sector between Punggol Coast Estate—Punggol Point LRT is lost too.
Thus I think it is better that if 84 was amended to Punggol Coast, need to introduce a new feeder 383 to cover up lost sectors between.
