Introduction

Tengah Bus Depot is a future multi-storey bus depot. The depot is envisioned as an integrated rail and bus depot in the Tengah region which also serves the Jurong Region Line (JRL). The rail and bus depots are co-located to optimise land use and streamline construction processes.

The depot is intended to accommodate additional buses that are being introduced over the years, as the overall bus capacity increases under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) and Bus Contracting Model (BCM).  The multi-story depot is designed for handling roughly 600 buses and will be equipped with a Bus Operations Control Centre, parking spaces, refuelling and washing facilities, repair and maintenance facilities, and administrative offices to support day-to-day bus operations.

When completed, Tengah Bus Depot will join other multi-storey bus depots in Singapore such as East Coast Bus Depot, Sengkang West Bus Depot, Woodlands Bus Depot, and Soon Lee Bus Depot. To optimise land use, the depot will also include a four-storey transport workers’ dormitory that can accommodate 450 bus captains.

Construction

Contract J101 – Design and Construction of Tengah Depot and Associated Facilities for Jurong Region Line was awarded to Railway 11 Bureau Group Corporation (Singapore Branch) in November 2019 at a total contract value of $739.5 million. Construction of Tengah Depot is expected to commence in 2020 and is slated for completion in 2026.

Most probably for Bulim replacement as Bulim Drive will be for industrial park in future. In addition Beauty World ITH might be under this depot and renamed to Tengah Bus Package.
Clementi will probably goes to Ulu Pandan Depot and LTA might extend a few parking lots by taking over the heavy vehicle park there.Bukit Merah package will get a new depot along southern corridor.

Current depot that need replacement either by lesser capacity/Location/Lease expired is Soon Lee,Ang Mo Kio(SBST),Bedok,Woodlands & Bukit Batok.

It may be the permanent replacement of the Bulim bus depot, as the Bulim bus depot was designed to be temporary in the first place, when it was constructed in 2014, under the working name of “Wenya Bus Depot”.

Most probably current Bulim package will move here and Soon Lee will take over Bulim instead.
