The depot is built at Tuas West, covering an area of 260,000 square metres, and bordered by Tuas West Road, Tuas West Drive and the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE). It contains a maintenance facility and stabling areas, and is accessed from Tuas West Road. It opened in 2016 along with completion of the Tuas West Extension of the East West Line, from Gul Crescent to Tuas Link.
Situated just after Tuas Link station, there are a total of 2 reception tracks: both heading eastbound towards Tuas Link station.
Contract C1685 for the construction of Tuas Depot was awarded to Jurong Primewide Pte Ltd at a contract sum of S$237.1 million.
On the roof slab of the depot building, a new bus terminal is built, which is accessible via vehicular ramps connecting to Tuas West Drive and Tuas Link 4. For more information, visit the Tuas Bus Terminal article.
Tuas Depot maintains C151B trains operating along the East West Line’s Tuas West Extension when it opened in 2016 where it continues to support testing of the trains and signalling systems before the extension opens in 2017. It will likely take in C151, C651, C751B and C151A trains once the extension is opened, as well as C151C trains in the near future.
