Upgrading works for 6 bus interchanges were announced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on 18 August 2026. The six bus interchanges are Bishan, Bukit Batok, Bukit Merah, Eunos, Punggol and Tampines. This is the second batch of bus interchanges to undergo upgrades in recent years.
Key works include:
- Enhancements to or provision of inclusive facilities, such as priority queue zones, additional seating, baby care/family washrooms, wheelchair-accessible toilets, commuter care rooms, tactile guided paths and Braille signs on handrails;
- Replacement and upgrading of systems, such as air-conditioning and lighting; and
- Refurbishment of staff facilities, such as passenger service offices and staff lounges.
Upgrading works for the previous batch of 7 bus interchanges, announced in August 2024 — Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Boon Lay, Clementi, Sengkang, Serangoon and Toa Payoh, under Contract DE189 — are currently underway and are expected to be completed in 2027.

LTA published the tender on government procurement site GeBIZ for the upgrading works later on 19 Aug 2026, under Contract BD206 – Enhancement to Bus Infrastructure.
The titles of the tender documents publicly listed on GeBIZ indicate two packages, identified as BD206(A) and BD206(B). The listing also identifies optional works for two additional bus interchanges.
