Service 868E provides passengers in Bukit Gombak and Bukit Batok with alternative means of transport to the city and Marina Centre, via an express sector along the AYE. The journey time is comparable to taking a train, but Service 868E charges express distance fares which is more expensive. The route was introduced on 28 September 2010 as part of the Quarterly Review of Bus Services performed in September 2010, as Service 868. It was renumbered to Service 868E from 13 August 2018.

Service 868E received a fleet upgrade to double-decker buses from 11 Aug 2015 to cope with rising demand for this service.

Should convert this service into a full 24 hour bus service on Weekdays, Weekends & PHs and renumber back to 868 or 871

Bukit Batok Bus Interchange to Marina Centre Bus Terminal

Also extend to Bukit Batok Bus Interchange passing via Bukit Batok East Ave 2,5, Bukit Gombak MRT, Bukit Batok West Avenue 5, 7, 4, 2, 3 & 6, Bukit Batok Ave 1, Jurong East Central, Toh Guan Road, Jurong East Street 11, Jurong Town Hall Road, AYE, Keppel Road, Shenton Way Area, Esplanade Drive & Raffles Boulevard

Cool idea but 871 has already been taken, so it just becomes 868

Change to 658 better. Fit with the rest of the city-directs.

Should become a trunk route as it must extend to its nearby interchange and become full day trunk route or in the future. Maybe not…
