Historical Background

Ang Mo Kio Depot began operations in 1978 under Singapore Bus Services (SBS), and has been in operation ever since, as one of the oldest bus depots around. It occupies 63,955 sq m of land within the Yio Chu Kang industrial estate, and cost around S$6 million to build. SBS Transit holds the land tenure lasting 26 years from 1 March 1994 (as per 2018 SBS Transit Annual Report). In the 2019 SBS Transit Annual Report, the land lease was extended by 4 years and 9 months to 30 years and 9 months, ending 1 December 2024.
