Track Point fault at Joo Koon on 7 Feb 2017
A track point fault near Joo Koon Station on 7 February 2017 led to delays across the East West Line (EWL) during the morning peak hours. Westbound trains were made to terminate at Joo Kon, Boon Lay and Jurong East during the evening peak hours.

Mobileye Collision Avoidance System
Local bus operator SBS Transit is investing in technology to increase the competency of its Bus Captains. In recent months, the Mobileye anti-collision alert system has been progressively installed on SBS Transit buses, helping to reinforce safe driving behaviour and reducing the chance of accidents. Acting as an ‘extra pair of eyes’, the system alerts Bus Captains to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists on the roads with visual and audible alerts.

Extension of Bus and Train Operating Hours for Chinese New Year’s Eve 2017
Operating hours of train services and selected bus services will be extended on Chinese New Year’s Eve, Friday, 27 January 2017 for the benefit of late-night commuters. Last train timings along all MRT and LRT lines will be extended to the early hours of 28 January, along with selected residential bus services that allow commuters to connect from the last train.

LTA trials new information display for buses
On Thursday, 8 December 2016, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) launched a new information display panel for buses, providing commuters with on-route information in real-time. The Passenger Information Display System (PIDS) is a new LCD panel installed on a Tower Transit MAN NL323F single-deck bus, deployed on Bus Service 106 for a 2-month trial period.

Bus Accident along Ulu Pandan Road on 16 January 2017
An SMRT Bus and a SBS Transit bus were involved in an accident, leaving both vehicles badly damaged. The incident unfolded in the afternoon of Monday, 16th January 2017, along Ulu Pandan Road. The buses involved were SMB1371H, a SMRT MAN NL323F plying Service 61, and SG5570B, a SBS Transit Volvo B9TL plying Service 7 at the time of incident.

Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange is an Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) located at Bukit Panjang, serving residential areas around Bukit Panjang, Cashew, Teck Whye and Yew Tee. The interchange is the eighth air-conditioned bus interchange in Singapore, integrated within the the Hillion Mall and Hillion Residences, and seamlessly connected to Bukit Panjang MRT/LRT station.

SMRT Bendy Bus Accident at Yew Tee
A SMRT Bendy Bus was involved in an accident with a car in Yew Tee, leaving the damaged bus stuck on a pavement. The incident unfolded in the afternoon of Sunday, 8th January 2017, outside Block 689B and near the junction between Choa Chu Kang Drive and Choa Chu Kang Cres. The bus involved was TIB1214B, a SMRT Mercedes-Benz O405G plying Service 302 at the time of incident.
