Brickland Station (NS3A Station) is an above-ground station along the North South Line (NSL), to be constructed from 1H 2026 (delayed from 2024). It will be located above Bukit Batok West Avenue 5, to the south of the junction with Brickland Road and Bukit Batok Road.
Both Brickland and Sungei Kadut stations were announced on 25 May 2019 as part of the LTA’s Land Transport Master Plan 2040. These stations are infill stations along the NSL targeted for completion before 2040. Previously, Dover and Canberra stations were built as infill stations along the EWL and NSL, opening in 2001 and 2019 respectively.
Additional details for Brickland station was announced by the Land Transport Authority in July 2023. It is projected to open in 2034.
Train Services & Platforms
| Platform A: North South Line towards NS1EW24JE5 Jurong East via NS3 Bukit Gombak (→) |
| Platform B: North South Line towards NS28 Marina South Pier via NS4JS1BP1 Choa Chu Kang (←) |
Brickland station has two elevated platforms in a side platform arrangement.
The middle track (existing southbound track) will be used as a cripple siding with no platform access, while a new track & viaduct will be constructed for southbound train services towards Choa Chu Kang & Marina South Pier.
Construction
Brickland station will be constructed under Contract 115 – Design and Construction of NS3A Station and Viaduct on the Existing North-South Line, which was awarded on 30 December 2025 to Obayashi Corporation at a contract value of around $281 million.
As part of the contract, a new viaduct and crossover tracks will also be constructed in addition to Brickland station itself. Construction works for the station and viaduct are expected to start in 1H 2026.
Engineering Highlights
According to the Land Transport Authority, significant engineering works are required for the addition of the new NS3A station to the existing rail network. This includes:
- A new viaduct that will be built to facilitate the staged diversion of train services from existing viaducts. This will allow modification works to be carried out safely on the existing rail infrastructure and systems, while still maintaining NSL train operations during the period of construction.
- New crossover tracks to be laid between existing tracks and new tracks, and the creation of a new siding which can be used in the event of train faults, thus improving service recovery and resiliency along this stretch of the NSL.
- Installation of a temporary protection enclosure over some stretches of the tracks during construction, as well as the carrying out of some works at night after train operation hours, to ensure the safety of our commuters.

The planned layout of
New track + Island platform + Existing CCK-bound track voided + Existing BG-bound track remain + Side platform.
Can be improvised to:
New track + Island platform + Existing CCK-bound track become BG-bound track + Existing BG-bound track voided.
Make it easier for commuters to change trains at Brickland station, and reduce the cost of construction due to less platform required.
Anyway, unlikely they will change the plan.
i doubt the improvised plan wld work, from what i observe and understand, the CCK-bound platform is only the size of a side platform, where the escalators are placed near the road on the ground level , while being next to the wall covering the siding, hence an island platform wont work..?
Or even: Just two side platforms.
Why even need to have an additional track, and make one track become siding….
The reason is probably because of the escalator. But why not just make enough space such that can have the escalator and side platform properly?
Honestly: it’s just 2 bus stops away from Bukit Gombak MRT station. If it’s going to be so inconvenient, the cost may far excess any potential benefit – might as well just cancel the plan.
Construction havent start. Now cancel, the loss probably not that great. But if press on and do it, and later realise the costs very high and very few people take (even lesser than Dover and Canberra), then honestly this is not a worth while project. Should consider cancelling the project.
Work should be starting very soon. Bukit Batok Driving Centre announced their main gate facing the station worksite will be permanently closed starting 1 March 2025.
Hi,
Does any one has any updates on brickland MRT?
All seems quiet and there are no activity
The tender is still pending award.
