Back to Bus Services
Right now the only planned extension is to Kovan MRT via Hougang Ave 3, Hougang St 12, Hougang Ave 13 (U/C) and Hougang Ave 1. Nothing further than that yet.
Currently the new BTO in Hougang South seems not to have a bus service to Hougang Central… Unless LTA wants people to walk to Hougang Ave 3 and take 87 or etc instead.
It would be nice if 146 gets extended further, don’t you think?
Sadly LTA only loves their short trunks & feeders. Harb and sperking.
Beyond Kovan, they could extend it further into Hougang Central and possibly Buangkok Crescent to link the amenities to Kovan. But just speculation only. Right now the extension is, pathetically, as what you said….
When Buangkok ITH opens 146 could extend there from Woodleigh ITH Integrating with 115 passing via Bidadari Park Residential Area, Bartley Road/East, Hougang Avenue 3, Kovan Hub/MRT, Upper Serangoon Road, Hougang Avenue 10/6 & Sengkang Central.
146 purpose of extending to Buangkok ITH is to connect Kovan residents a direct bus, residents specifically who live along Hougang Avenue 1/3 & Tampines Road.

Would be nice if they can extend this service from Hougang Ave 3 on to Bedok Interchange with 87 and 854. This will probably reduce overcrowding in mornings for 854. If not, Tampines Int is a good idea too.
Neither is happening. Hougang Avenue 3 goes to Kovan too Yk
That is where they are extending it to. The new BTO in Hougang South (Hougang Ave 13)
Looping at Kovan Hub
Already confirmed by LTA, it was leaked to the enthu community. So no more questions asked please.
So I wonder how the extension route to Hougang Avenue 3 is going to look like?
– Turn at Upper Paya Lebar Road and then into Lorong Ah Soo, Tampines Road, and Hougang? Basically merging with Bus 62 route?
– Go straight alongside the Bartley Viaduct once the area sees more development before merging with Bus 45 and Bus 151 routes? That Bartley Viaduct stretch has no bus services at the moment.
