I reckon the buses will be from HGDEP. Hearsay got 4 A22 Euro 5s that got taken from LTA UPDEP storage to HGDEP. Anybody able to confirm if this is true?

I have a feeling service 146 will be under hgdep.

True but HGDEP is overcrowded so BRBP or AMDEP might be the likely depot control

The 14x prefix is traditionally associated with Toa Payoh, so rather incredulous to assume all 14x buses are going to migrate to that tiny Woodleigh Interchange just because of a 146. Basically Woodleigh is under the Toa Payoh URA Planning Area, so far more likely that they are just going to share the prefix.

I don’t even think it makes sense to amend 142 to extend to WL when it has to loop at Potong Pasir. Probably far more likely to be shifted from Woodleigh to loop at PP, but I cannot figure out how this route can be configured without skipping the vital link to PP MRT.

I am more curious to know where 146 is going to go towards the east.

142 can still be extended to Woodleigh using red/white plates to differentiate WL-bound and TPY-bound buses. Otherwise LTA can just introduce another 14x service from WL looping at PP but I think its more economical to just extend 142 to WL int.

about 142, can be possible to Woodleigh and make a double route in PP like in Whampoa. maybe in PP, they will make two way bus stop instead of 1 which currently 142 serves now. fingers crossed.

146? maybe possible to Buangkok ITH?? we will never know because it said extend to Hougang in future.

It might be a hint that existing bus service with 14x prefix will be amended to serve woodleigh ITH. Therefore, the following are my predictions for existing bus routes with 14x predix:
140 and 141 will be a duo from L1G to Woodleigh ITH.
142 will be extended to Woodleigh ITH forming TPYWoodleigh.
143 and 145 will be extended to Woodleigh ITH via PIE, of which one of them will duplicate 506 route causing it to be withdrawn.
147 will be shorten to Woodleigh ITH skipping Serangoon and Hougang.

140 cannot, need to loop at St Wilfred.
143 and 145 route already so Long, why want to extend?
Withdraw 506?? What an absurd move! Although it doesn’t have such high demand, it is like the fastest way ppl can get to Jurong now!

      The others:
141 doesn’t have much issue (other than making one big loop to TPY to Farrer Pk), but remember that Woodleigh ITH has very very very limited berth and parking space.
147 might be alright since it already duplicates NEL, but there is quite “generous demand” (as stated by LTG) from residents in Hougang + Serangoon, so shortening it might result in loss for these residents.

140 is feeder bus from Kallang to St Wilfred.

141 is trunk bus from Kallang to Toa Payoh (no issue).

142 is feeder bus from Toa Payoh to Bidadari.

143, 147 is NOT OK to change. These two routes always duplicate MRT somehow.

145 is already so long and had been protected even though it also duplicate EWL (from Redhill to Buona Vista).

I think you have not check on the demand of these services. Although they most use 14x series but does not mean all must move there.

140- It will be good to remain, but have it demand
      141- Another consideration to consider.
142-Most liket to move to Woodleigh ITH
143-There are a lot of people taking from Toa Payoh Int, not possible to move
      145-Same as 143
147- Not possible, Hougang , hougang ave 8 to serangoon have huge demand and do not repeat the same mistake when they tried to withdrawn due to rationalazation during NEL line duplication

I would like to see Service 142, 146 and 147 move to Bidadari.
A new route Service 148 introduced to replace Service 147’s lost sectors between Toa Payoh and Hougang Central.

It’s not possible! 147 has high demand from Hougang, cutting its route off is a terrible mistake, there’s a reason why it was saved from NEL rationalisation!
146 however is definitely moving to Woodleigh/Bidadari, but 142, not definite, since it requires red/white plate to run. If that’s the case, why need another loop service?

Well Svc 148 can be introduced between Hougang Central & Bidadari to cover Svc 147’s sector. But I would like to see Svc 147 shortened but if not shortened can call Bidadari as an en-route stop instead.

I would reconsider Service 142 to be Toa Payoh ↺ Woodleigh ITH (Loop) via Potong Pasir Estate. By then, a new Terminating Trip Service 142T is introduced between Toa Payoh – Woodleigh ITH in which busses leaving Toa Payoh after 2330hrs will terminate at Potong Pasir ITH

For 147, it could be possible to cut from Hougang to Woodleigh ITH. Given that there are some services that loop around Serangoon MRT such as 81, 82, 43M, 116 etc.

It’s possible for one of the services above to be amended and extended to Woodleigh to cover the lost sectors served by 147, 82 would be a good option as it duplicates the Upper Serangoon Road Corridor and you can just take MRT from Hougang to Serangoon and it would be faster

So basically every single tpy bus gets shifted to woodleigh? sounds like asking for a lot of route duplication for no reason

You are absolutely mental to think of cutting 147. Do you know how many people take this bus from their homes in Hougang Ave 8 to Serangoon MRT?

But we need at least a service that duplicates the North-East Line, sure if you want 147 to be shortened to Woodleigh ITH, then are you introducing another NEL Rationalisation route? So its best if a service duplicates the North-East Line like Service 147. Service 147’s route can remain as it is currently. So you’re absolutely right.
